Creatine Searches From Women Are Surging: What First-Time Buyers Should Know

Spring, Texas. October 2026, Creatine is usually a January story, when New Year's resolutions send fitness supplement sales and searches climbing. This year, the category did not wait. Marketplace data shows creatine demand grew straight through the traditional summer slowdown, and searches aimed at women are accelerating fastest.

According to SmartScout marketplace analytics covering the 12 months through August 2026, creatine subcategory sales on U.S. Amazon rose 90% year over year, reaching roughly $57.5 million per month and $721 million over the trailing twelve months. Sales grew about 4% month over month through the summer months, when the category typically cools.

Search interest tells the same story. "Creatine" now draws about 620,700 searches per month, up roughly 118,500 from a year ago. The phrase "creatine for women" draws about 174,400 monthly searches, up roughly 33,800 year over year. Its gain in the most recent 30 days alone, about 37,300 searches, was larger than its gain over the entire prior year.

Separately, Exploding Topics tracks "creatine monohydrate" at 1.22 million in search volume, up 331% over 24 months, and classifies the trend as exploding.

"When a supplement category stops following its usual seasonal curve, it usually means a new group of buyers has arrived," said Marcus Reyes of The Creatine Guide. "What we see in search behavior is a lot of women asking the same practical questions: Will it make me look bulky? Does it cause bloating? How much should I take? Most of the fear around creatine comes from outdated assumptions, and the research does not support it."

As 2027 resolution season approaches, The Creatine Guide expects continued growth, particularly among first-time buyers comparing formats, doses, and brands. Common questions include powder versus gummies, whether a loading phase is necessary, and how to read third-party testing labels.
